With the economy in the condition it’s in, people are trying all kinds of things to make ends meet. One of the most evident things being done is trying their hands at selling items. In searching the internet, one can find almost any item available to buy whether old or new. Ebay has become a great platform to sell any item and for those who create Etsy is the place to sell. All this selling which inevitably leads to shipping would lead one to question why the post office is claiming to be having a difficult time financial. Yes, letters might have decreased because of email, but shipping which is higher priced must have increased significantly. On top of the cost of actual shipping, there are also shipping supplies such as boxes, edge protectors and fill. I’d be willing to bet that USPS isn’t doing as poorly as they claim.

For years, my husband has been saying that he wants to learn to play the guitar. For some unknown reason, he thinks that anyone should be able to pick up and instrument and by sound, be able to play. We have an acoustic guitar in the house with a book of chords for his reference. Using a guitar chords chart is probably the best way to learn. Following the fingering and practicing the chords will enable you to play almost any song. I actually play the piano and rather than learning the exact fingering for the left hand, I play the chords. Of course, it does take a fair amount of memorization to learn the chords. Playing an instrument, however, I find to be a wonderful way to relax.

I love to decorate and put together a room that is appealing, functional and most of all different. I’m not the kind of person who opens up and magazine and says, “I want that.” I enjoying creating a new look and improvising to obtain exactly what I want. I pretty much had thought I covered all the details until I came across a website that sells switch plate covers. I never paid much mind to them, but now I have a new outlook. The holidays are almost here and for most of us it includes some extent of travel. My husband and I will be driving that familiar four hour route to South Florida. It’s really not the best part of any occasion since the roads have become hazardous with too many distracted drivers speaking on cell phones and texting. In addition, you find the people who have genuine problems on the road. This has happened to us more than once and it’s a harrowing experience to be pulled over on the side of a road where cars, RV’s and trucks are whizzing by at 80 mph or more. The one comfort we have is that we are members of AAA (Automobile Club of America) who have gotten us out of a bind on a few occasions. I think it’s advisable for everyone, including RV’s to have a roadside assistance plan. Check it out before you get on the road for your next trip and drive worry free!!

It’s difficult to relax sometimes with everything going on in your life. I know there are times that I lay in bed for hours planning and contemplating occasions and life’s tasks such as ‘paying bills.’ Although, I lay there trying to concentrate on nothing and put the thoughts out of my head, it’s a useless task. The most stable jobs today seem to be in the healthcare field. Obviously, just because the economy is faltering, it doesn’t keep people from getting sick. Ironically, it seems as though everyone I speak to lately has one ailment or another. I wonder if possibly these health problems could be because of the added stress. I’ve just been thinking about the rise of natural disasters over the years. It seems to me that there could be a lot more preventative measures taken by cities, states and government. More and more we worry about the water that is supplied to our homes. It seems to me that I’m seeing more and more people wearing braces. Many are now wearing one on their wrist for the infamous Carpel Tunnel Syndrome from using the computer or playing video games. Some are wearing knee braces and others are wearing an ankle brace for soccer or for some other sports related injury. I personally had worn one on my wrist for quite some time and although it didn’t cure the problem, it did give me some relief.
