One Good Turn

Turn on the TV, read the news online or in a newspaper. If you’re lucky you might encounter one uplifting, heartwarming story. People are so wrapped up with getting through life that it’s rare and in between that they take the time to be a “Good Samaritan.” Remember that term?
Although I don’t expect these comments to accumulate too quickly, I think those who take that extra step should be recognized. Tell us what you did or what someone did for you. Maybe in the long run, it will encourage us to become a society that truly works together to be the best that we can be. For, one good turn deserves another.

A few minutes of your time can mean so much to people. My daughter was just telling me that she had been in the Department of Motor Vehicle. In Florida, waiting in the DMV can take up most of your day. When my daughter arrived there was as older couple waiting. Since my daughter had an appointment, she was taken rather quickly. As she finished she overheard the older couple saying that they were waiting for over an hour and that they were there just to do an address change. My daughter approached them and informed them that the address change could be done on the computer that was accessible there at the DMV. She took a few minutes of her time and helped this couple to make the change. They were very grateful for her help. It really doesn’t take a lot to be of assistance to someone in need and payback is wonderful. Doing something nice for someone can make your day!!!
